In this weeks vlog we begin our first sea day exploring the ship in some more detail, taking in the Galleria Virtuosa, the atrium and the stair cases. The decor of the ship and the atrium was amazing, however, lacked practicalities as there was never enough seating the indoor venues downstairs. So we ended up heading to the buffet to grab a cup of tea.
We didn't really have a plan for the day, the on-board entertainment was very underwhelming for our sea day, especially when compared to other cruises we have been on in the past. So of course, we headed back to.... the buffet. We did try to go to the restaurant, however, as we couldn't access the menus before we entered, we didn't know what was available to eat. The options were not great as two dishes were fish, and we don't eat fish... so back to the buffet once more.
Putting in a good word for the buffet, there was a massive dessert and cake selection as it was fathers day, so that made up for the lack of choice available on board.
When we got back to our cabin, we had a knock on the door and received a fresh selection of fruit and a bottle of sparkling wine from the hotel director... we aren't entirely sure as to why, but it was much appreciated none the less.
Georgie began to feel ill during our sea day, and due to the rough seas outside, we were under the impression that this was sea sickness. We completed a covid test, and the result was negative.
As the evening was beginning, we walked and had a look around the on board shops, there was a nice selection of gift shops, clothing, jewellery, and duty free shops on board.
We then went back to (you guessed it), the buffet for dinner.
We took a wonder around the quiet arcade and sports area on board, before heading to the bar at the at of the ship to watch the stunning sunset!
