We’ve just heard something paw-sitively exciting – and we couldn’t wait to share it…
P&O Cruises is trialling a brand-new programme that lets you bring your dog on board! Yep – you, your suitcase, and your furry best mate… all heading to sea together.

Called “Paws on Deck”, this new initiative will be rolling out on select cruises from Spring 2026. The idea? To make cruise holidays more inclusive for four-legged travellers who love the sound of the sea and the feel of the wind in their fur.
We’re talking:
Dedicated pet-friendly balcony cabins, complete with dog beds, a toy basket, and a “do not disturb – nap in progress” sign
Gourmet pet menus developed by top canine nutritionists (think slow-cooked lamb and pupcakes)
Special shore excursions for dogs, like beach playdates and woodland sniff walks
And yes – even a Dog Disco at Sea, hosted by DJ Barky B (who, we hear, only spins vinyl shaped like frisbees)

Atlas is already working on his cruise wardrobe – Hawaiian shirt, sun hat and matching lead, obviously.
Now, we know what you’re thinking… what about toilet time? Not to worry – the ships will have dedicated “relief zones” on the promenade deck and a full crew of pet attendants to keep things tidy.

P&O say this could be a game-changer for dog-loving cruisers who hate saying goodbye at the kennel gates. And honestly, we agree.
But if you’ve made it this far…
Happy April Fools’ Day!
There’s no official “Paws on Deck” programme just yet – but wouldn’t it be brilliant? We’d be first in line with Atlas, squeaky toy in hand.
For now, he’ll just have to enjoy watching our cruise vlogs and dreaming of seagulls.
Oh this is so cruel. I've gone 4 years between cruises because I got my first dog in lockdown. I was just about to message P&O in the excitement. They certainly would get tonnes of business from me. I'm so deflated now. You got me big time!
