Planning a cruise as a family of five can be a bit of a juggling act, but P&O Cruises has just made things much easier. Three of their most popular ships now offer five-berth cabins, and two of their smaller ships will welcome children on selected holidays. It all adds up to more choice, more flexibility and more chances to book the perfect family break.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Five-Berth Cabins: Families of Five Can Now Share One Space

If you’ve ever had to split your family across two cabins, this will be a breath of fresh air. P&O Cruises has introduced a limited number of cabins that sleep up to five guests on Britannia, Iona and Arvia.

These cabins are designed with families in mind, offering a comfy mix of a fixed double bed, a pull-down bed and a double sofa bed. On Arvia and Iona, a cot can even be used as the fifth berth, making it ideal for families with little ones.

When they’re available

Five-berth cabins launch from these summer 2026 holidays:

  • Britannia: 3 July 2026

  • Iona: 4 July 2026

  • Arvia: 5 July 2026

Where they’re located

A selection of Superior Deluxe Balcony cabins on Britannia and Conservatory Mini-suites on Arvia and Iona have been adapted to sleep five. These are limited, so it’s best to book as early as possible if you’ve got your eye on one.

Arcadia and Aurora Now Offer Cruises for All Ages

This is another lovely update for families planning ahead. Arcadia and Aurora, usually adult-only ships, will now welcome children on selected sailings.

If you prefer smaller ships with a quieter, more traditional feel, this is a great option. Kids can join in with the entertainment, splash in the pools and enjoy menus with familiar favourites. It’s a really nice balance if you’re looking for a family holiday that isn’t full-on but still has plenty to do.

Summer 2026 Is Selling Fast

Because these new options give families a lot more flexibility, demand for summer 2026 is already high, especially during the school holidays. Five-berth cabins are limited, and the all-age sailings on Arcadia and Aurora are proving popular with families who prefer a calmer cruise experience.

If you’re thinking about booking, try to secure your cabin sooner rather than later.

Final Thoughts

These updates make cruising with P&O Cruises more family-friendly than ever. Whether you want the convenience of a five-berth cabin or the charm of a smaller ship that now welcomes children, you’ve got more ways to find a holiday that suits everyone.
