5 Things We Loved On Sky Princess

We recently cruised onboard Princess Cruises Sky Princess for 7 nights to Scandinavia.

It was our first time with Princess Cruises so we wanted to tell you all about the things we loved onboard.

The Food

Sky Princess offers a large range of dining options, bars, cafes, and takeaway spots. The majority of these venues are included in the cruise fare.

There are 3 À la Carte Restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dinner experience entails a three-course meal with a rotating menu, all covered by the Princess Fare.

Alfredo's Pizzeria is a fantastic choice, where you can indulge in incredible authentic pizzas and delectable side dishes from 11:00 am till late, and everything on the menu is included.

On the pool deck, you can grab pizzas, chips, tacos, and soft-serve ice cream to enjoy on your sun lounger.

The International Cafe open 24 hours, offers a selection of pastries, sandwiches, and desserts.

Additionally, the buffet offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, providing casual seating options.

For a little extra there are the specialty restaurants: Crown Grill, Sabatini's Italian, and Bistro Sur La Mer which are perfect for special occasions onboard. We dined at the Crown Grill and Sabatini’s Italian and found the quality to be very similar to that of the inclusive venues.

Alternatively, there is 24-hour room service available. There was a good selection of inclusive options as well as some for additional charge.

Movies Under The Stars

On Sky Princess (and other Princess ships), Movies Under The Stars becomes an immersive encounter. The pool deck undergoes a captivating transformation at night, adorned with Movies Under the Stars chair coverings over the lounge chairs. Cozy blankets are thoughtfully provided, and popcorn and pizza is readily available.

We enjoyed several movies here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Ship Design

We were very impressed with the design and appearance of Sky Princess.

The lavish gold accents and sparkling crystal and glass embellishments found throughout the Piazza were captivating.

The attention to detail extends beyond the Piazza, encompassing the pool decks, lounges, and other public spaces.

Medallion

Every ship in the Princess Cruises fleet is now equipped with MedallionClass technology, providing access to the Ocean Medallion and Medallion Net.

The Ocean Medallion serves as a wearable disk, surpassing the functionalities of a mere cruise card. It provides a number of conveniences to enhance your cruise experience, while also facilitating seamless connectivity with your fellow travellers.

We adored the convenience of being able to have drinks and food delivered to any location on the ship. Additionally, the door unlock feature, which automatically activated as we approached our cabin, was a great touch that spared us the hassle of searching for our cruise card.

Furthermore, the Ocean Medallion offers an exciting entertainment dimension, featuring interactive games, captivating original programming, and even casino games for added enjoyment.

Entertainment

There was a wide selection of entertainment available on Sky Princess with something for everyone.

Quizzes were available throughout the day in the Vista Lounge and Princess Live! We were truly impressed with the selection available with everything from TV Theme Tunes to Hits of the 80s covered.

Live music was also available in the Piazza, Crown Grill Bar, Vista Lounge, Take Five and the Princess Theatre.

The Princess Theatre located on deck 7 forward provided production shows such as Spotlight Bar and 5 Skies, as well as comedians and other acts.

Other entertainment, included fruit & vegetable carving, a paper plane competition, an ice carving demonstration, origami and more.
